Advocacy

Advocacy is how LAW makes sure that the issues victims and survivors are raising are heard while the legal process runs, and sometimes where no legal process exists.

LAW amplifies the voices of survivors and raises awareness of their experiences and their fight for justice, from the Human Rights Council and the Security Council to national parliaments and the media. The distinguishing feature is who does the speaking. LAW places survivors at the centre of advocacy efforts and builds their capacity to design and run their own initiatives, so that the people most affected set the agenda rather than illustrate someone else’s. All of this work is grounded in in-depth research and policy analysis.
